Project Manager: Shared Spaces (2019—2021)

Shared Spaces is a three-year project of the University of Saskatchewan Art Galleries & Collection developing an app for viewing and sharing art through Augmented Reality (AR). We held consultation sessions with seven communities across Saskatchewan, employing user-centred and service design methodologies to learn from participants their needs and desires related to viewing art. The insights gained from these consultation sessions informed the design of the app, which continues to be prototyped in collaboration with our partner communities, and content is being developed in collaboration with numerous artists and arts organizations.

I led the Galleries’ successful Canada Council for the Arts Digital Strategy Fund application, which was awarded $482,150. I then served as Project Manager for two years, leading multiple cross-disciplinary teams that included experts from Computer Science, Archaeology, Fine Arts, and Library Sciences. Additional highlights include the development of instructional videos on how to make digital 3D artworks, a number of which have received thousands of views; the creation of a Guide to IP and Copyright; and partnering with Persephone Theatre to develop their first VR performance with their Young Company.

I had to step away from the project when I was hired as a Program Officer by Canada Council.
